The
Weekend Academy has access to excellent accessible exhibition spaces at Byam
Shaw, in which participants may present their activities and experiences to
a wider audience through professional documentation, including public exhibitions
and screenings.
We value opportunities for participants to show and discuss their work with their peers, and with other artists.
The Weekend Academy at Byam Shaw hosts exhibitions of participants’ work, ranging from informal hanging of work made during a day or weekend workshop, through to public presentations of artwork made during residencies, and work selected for exhibition with a partner organisation.
WKD’s partner organisations make use of exhibition space at Byam Shaw during the school year to display work made through our programmes.
Some participants who have worked with Weekend Academy through the Saturday Studio project and the Xposure festivals, also exhibit and sell artwork online with The Other Side Gallery. They include Jookhown Chow, William M. Denison, Carlton H. Forde, Jim Hall, Thompson Hall, Ted Kemble, John Lydon, T. J. Mills, Richard Okwuosa, John Joseph Sheehy, and Gillian Street.
